The Ganges River dolphin or Susu, lives in one of the most densely populated regions of the world. One of the main threats to the species is loss of habitat due in large part to the creation of dams and irrigation projects.
The Endangered river dolphin, can only live in freshwater and is essentially blind. It once ranged throughout the Ganges-Brahmaputra- Meghna and Karnaphuli-Sangu river systems of Nepal, India, and Bangladesh, from the Himalayan foothills to the Bay of Bengal. Today its population is divided by dams into isolated groups and has a much reduced range. The lowest estimate for the total population is 1,200–1,800 individuals.
The World Conscious Pact, Ganga Action Parivar and World Vaisnava Association joined for the protection of the gangetic river dolphin, and the Holy Rivers in India and around the World.
We request all to help to defend the Waters of the Earth. Let us all be united in spirit and solidarity and with love try to spread Consciousness of our Holy Mother Earth, rivers and all Humans and Animals,
